The L-oh-rama

Do you remember when you were a kids, when you walk pass a window display of a toy store, you would press your nose against the mirror of the window, then dripping your saliva admiring and wishing you could bring back home all the toys on display.

Well, when you have grown up, the situation doesn't really change much. When we surf the net, or walk pass a gadget shop, we will stop and drool on the latest gadgets whether it's a super thin notebook or a game console. Usually this "big boy's toys" are very expensive, and an average joe like me wouldn't stand a chance of owning it.

However, for a smart person like me, fun doesn't have to come with an expensive price tag. For example, I've been monitoring the game Guitar Hero which can only be played on a game console like xbox 360, ps3. In this game, players will have to press the fret and strum just like playing the real guitar.

With the help of uncle Google, I managed to find a free open source software called Frets on Fire which is a guitar hero clone playable on PC. The style of the play is quite similar as well, the only thing is, FoF use keyboard where F1-F5 are the frets while Enter is where you "strum". So basically you have to hold your keyboard inverted to play this game realistically.
